Computer Programmer

Location: Norfolk, VA

Description:  

 

Computer Programmer.  Juno Technologies is seeking a Computer Programmer to design, code, test, and analyze software programs and applications. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production lifecycle. The Computer Programmer will also analyze and amend software errors in a timely, accurate fashion and provide status reports when required.

This position requires supporting U.S. Navy C4I Afloat based Tactical Network systems, requires direct interaction with equipment and U.S. Navy customers.  The position will be located in the Norfolk, VA area.

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, and Clearance:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related field

  • One or more years of technical experience as an applications programmer on computer or database management systems

  • Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell, C#, C++, Java, Microsoft Visual Studio and the XML format for representing data

  • Requires high degree of competence in analyzing functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities

  • Possess functional knowledge of computer equipment and the ability to develop complex software to satisfy design objectives

  • Must hold valid CompTIA Security+ certification or obtain within 6 months

  • Ability to obtain and hold a Secret Security clearance

       

Key Job Elements:

  • Assist other developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and developing new software programs and applications.

  • Plan phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for a variety of projects.

  • Design, develop, implement, test, maintain, operate, and/or document computer programs and systems.

  • Create, modify, or enhance software to interface with or manipulate data from a database.

  • Develop user-friendly application interfaces.

  • Optimize application and code performance.

  • Assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications.

  • Research and document requirements of software users.

  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.

  • Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.

  • Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.

  • Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.

  • Generate statistics and prepare and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines.

  • Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.
