Systems Engineer

Location: Charleston, SC or Norfolk, VA



Systems Engineer for Software Life Cycle Management.  Juno Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, test, and analyze software programs and applications. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production lifecycle. The Systems Engineer will also analyze and amend software errors in a timely, accurate fashion and provide status reports when required.


This position requires supporting U.S. Navy C4I Afloat based Tactical Network systems, requires direct interaction with equipment and U.S. Navy customers and will be located in the Norfolk, VA or Charleston, S.C. area. The individual must have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with DoD networks and U.S. Navy C4I.

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, and Clearance:

Preferred: (Mid Career Level SME)

  • COMPOSE/CANES - Navy Computing Systems background

  • MSCE/MCSA - Microsoft Certified System Engineer/Administrator

  • Min 5 years IT OJT


  • Windows PowerShell Script Development OJT

  • Experienced with virtualized systems deployment and administration OJT

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field


Required: (Junior Level SME)

  • Microsoft Certs - Windows Server and/or Windows 10

  • Min 2 years IT Sys Admin OJT

  • Familiarity with Windows PowerShell Script execution and troubleshooting

  • Familiarity with virtualized system administration

  • Must meet IAT II Certification requirements (i.e. CompTIA Security+ and relevant Windows certification preferred)

  • Must hold and maintain a Secret Security clearance


Key Job Elements:

  • Assist other developers, analysts, and designers in maintaining and upgrading software programs and applications.

  • Assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications.

  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.

  • Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.

  • Generate statistics and prepare and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the lifecycle progress.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines.

  • Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.

  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of an established team.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital for this position.
